I have long found that students learn differently from one another.  A key for every type of learner, however, is engagement.  This leads to enthusiasm, and in turn to understanding.  So in all of my classes, I have "creative extra credit" projects that relate to issues and concepts in my classes.  Each student has different skills, and as you can see, have become invested in the process.  This leads to better outcomes!
